These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Beef mobile app and related services ("Beef") operated by Rooney Industries LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("we", "our", "us"). By using Beef you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Beef is an adults-only service. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and accounts found to belong to minors are removed.
Beef does not ask for an email address or a password. When you first open the app we create an anonymous account tied to that installation, and you choose a first name.
This has a consequence you should understand before relying on it: the account lives on that device only. If you uninstall Beef, clear its data, sign out, or switch phones, that account and its rivalry record are gone and cannot be recovered by us — there is no identifier we could use to find it. We may later offer linking a Google or Apple account to make an account portable; until then, treat your record as tied to the install.
You may not impersonate another person, and you agree to use one account at a time.
When you write a dispute position, you agree NOT to submit content that:
We run every position through an AI safety classifier before the judge LLM sees it. Positions that fail moderation are rejected, and the dispute ends with no verdict. Repeated violations may result in account termination.
Beef uses third-party AI models (currently, via Groq, openai/gpt-oss-120b for judgments and openai/gpt-oss-safeguard-20b for moderation) to produce verdicts and roasts. The specific models may change. You understand that:
You retain ownership of the dispute positions you submit. By submitting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, process (including sending to LLM providers for judgment), and share within the app with other users participating in the dispute. We don't use your content for advertising or to train AI models beyond what the LLM providers' own policies permit.
You grant other users a license to view any shareable verdict card that names you if the dispute is resolved.
You can report any dispute you're part of from the dispute screen ("Report this beef") if you believe the other party violated these Terms or submitted harmful content. You can block a user after a dispute to prevent them from starting future beefs with you.
We review reports and may remove content, suspend accounts, or take other action in our sole discretion. We don't commit to a specific response time but we aim to review reports within 72 hours. Contact [email protected] if you need an update.
We can terminate your account for violation of these Terms. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account (or via https://beefjudge.com/delete-account/ if you no longer have the app). Termination is not a refund event — Beef is free.
Beef is provided "as is." We make no warranties that verdicts are accurate, fair, funny, or that the service will always be available. We are not liable for offense taken at verdicts or roasts, damaged friendships, lost arguments, or any indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is capped at $100.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be prompted in-app the next time you open Beef. Continuing to use Beef after a change means you accept the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Colorado, USA, and any disputes will be resolved in Colorado state or federal courts.
